ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION​

The final aspect of the project is to establish an environmental education focus of the river and its floodplain. This has been begun by signage along the hiking and canoe trails, keyed to a trail brochure that highlights the natural history of the river and its associated ecosystem.  In addition, the Still River Alliance has partnered with the City of Danbury Public Schools, to incorporate Environmental Education into the curriculum. This will include bringing school children to the Greenway to learn firsthand about the value and function of the Still River to the community.  We have created a database for logging the observations of students of all ages.
